When choosing self-care procedures contemporary ladies go for the ones that are accessible, easy and efficient. According to these guidelines some of the best treatments can be done at home.

Sour cream wrapping

When you are out grocery shopping don’t forget to add a container of 20% fat sour cream to your shopping list. Don’t worry about spoiling your diet – you will not be required to eat it. Whole sour cream is an excellent ingredient in cosmetic procedures. If you don’t have aluminum foil at home you can also include that in your shopping list. Now when you return home you will be fully equipped to undertake the delicious procedure of sour cream wrapping.

Add a few drops of cuticle softener containing vitamins A and E to the sour cream and beat it into a thick cream. You can use a mixer or blender. Apply this cream  to the palms of your hand up to the wrists or you can even go as far up as the elbows. The following step is as pleasant as it gets – gently massage your hands beginning at the fingertips and working first toward the wrist and then toward the elbow crease. When you are done with that, wrap your arms in foil and cover them with soft towels. Remove towels and foil in 10 minutes. By then the sour cream should be completely absorbed by the skin.

Sour cream wrapping is recommended to be done at least once a week. It can be performed as a single procedure or can be combined with manicure. The milky fat is quickly absorbed by the skin, making it fresh and soft. The proteins, calcium, ferments, acids and minerals contained in the cream have a wonderful nourishing effect on the skin.

Salt bath

Skin that is well cared for should never be in combination with splitting nails. If your nails are becoming brittle, they have to be strengthened. You can give them a hand with this easy, yet effective salt bath.

Prepare a solution of 4 tablespoons of sea salt in a liter of warm water. Dip the tips of your fingers in this solution and gradually submerge the rest of your hands. Soak for 15 minutes. Afterwards apply cuticle softener or moisturizer to the skin around the nails. This is the final step of the procedure.

Hand baths are recommended for all women. There are many easy recipes to choose from – herbal baths, baths with essential oils, etc. If you are doing your manicure at home, then you can also treat your hands in this easy manner. Baths improve blood circulation and make the hands smooth, gentle and soft.
